Safwat Shaker MD FACP
Biography
Dr. Safwat Shaker is the esteemed senior physician and senior partner at the Shaker Medical Group. For almost 3 decades, he built a successful solo practice before his two sons, Drs. Mina and David Shaker, joined him, creating a family legacy of excellence in patient care. A graduate of medical school in Cairo, Egypt, Dr. Shaker completed his internal medicine training at Bronx Lebanon Medical Center, where he laid the foundation for his distinguished career.
Dr. Shaker began his practice in North Bergen, eventually transitioning to Hackensack, where he has continued to make a significant impact in the medical community. Over the course of his career, he has served in key leadership roles, including Rehabilitation Medical Director and Director of the HIV Clinic. His passion for education has led him to teaching roles as an Associate Professor at both Rutgers School of Medicine and Seton Hall University School of Medicine.
Recognized for his clinical expertise, Dr. Shaker is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and has been named one of "America's Top Docs" for three consecutive years.
